Real Estate
The firm's main area of practice is real estate. We handle
residential and commercial real estate closings. We work with all local banks and lenders, plus all national lenders.
We are also title agents for Ticor Title Insurance and Attorney's Title Guaranty Fund, which is underwritten by First
American Title Company. For nine of the last ten years, our firm has been one of the
top ten agencies in the state of Georgia for the issue of title insurance. The firm also prepares contracts, leases, and
deeds as needed. We have our own title examiner that gives us an edge over other small
firms in that we can get our titles back in a shorter timeframe and close on shorter notice. We
work with all the local real estate agents. We also handle foreclosure matters and landlord/tenant related issues. We
are members of the Walton-Barrow Board of Realtors, the Chamber of Commerce and actively support the local community.
Incorporations
Lawhorn and Associates handles
the start-up of small businesses, including incorporations, LLC's and partnership agreements.
Estate Planning
Lawhorn and Associates also works in the area of wills and estate planning,
the probating of estates and handling all matters covered by the probate court.
Bankruptcy
We have recently began providing Bankruptcy services, including Chapter 7, 13 and 11.
Family Law
We
do handle divorces and any type of family law.
Criminal Law
We do handle criminal law.
