Louis P. Lawhorn

Louis was born in Big Spring, Texas in 1948 and he grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1968, he entered the U.S. Army and after training was shipped off to Vietnam.  Louis was awarded the Bronze Star and three Army Commendation Medals for his service in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970.

After serving 14 months, Louis was ordered to Fort McPherson, in East Point, Georgia.

Louis, with the help of the Veterans Administration, worked his way through college at Brunswick, Junior. College and Georgia State University. After college, he worked as a police officer for a number of years before deciding to attend law school.

In 1980, he attended Woodrow Wilson College of Law in Atlanta.  Louis attended school at night and worked full time during the day.  In 1984, he graduated from law school and went to work for the law firm of McCalla, Raymer, Padrick, Cobb and Nichols, a major residential real estate firm in Atlanta.  That is where he discovered his love of real estate and started his path to his own firm.

He lives in the Monroe area and enjoy the rural life of Walton County.

In 1989, Louis was stricken with Leukemia and was hospitalized for 6 weeks while undergoing chemotherapy. With the prayers of the people of his church, Gwinnett Community Church, and many others around the world, the Lord allowed Louis to live and he has been cancer-free ever since.  "I know that the Lord had a reason to keep me here and I will praise his name daily for his Grace."  Louis encourages people to read Psalms 116, the verse he claimed helped him as he was going through his hospitalization.  Ephesians 2, verses 8 and 9, should encourage both believers and non-believers alike.
